History of Department

Department of History started in 1919, from the beginning of the Willingdon College, Sangli. Department of History is one of the old and well contributed department for development of college. Department of History aims are: 1. Students concentrated studies with use of ITC 2. Aware the students about importance of Indian History 3. Acknowledge the students about Maratha History 4. Inform students about History & careers( in other Streams) 5. Guiding for History & Civil Services 6. Communication Skill development for Students 7. Make available Visits, Trips to Heritage & Historical places

Infrastructure

Department of History is situated in one room. But capable to seat 08 to 10 persons comfortably. We have well arranged three cupboards with old designed heavy wood table. Department of History have own text book library, reference section. Also we have collection of old designed glasses, lamps, books, which are rare things in now days.
