History of Department The College has a two storied library Building. This was inaugurated at the hands of late Shri. Mahamahopadhaye D.V.Potdar, the Vice-chancellor, University of Pune, Pune on the 21st. December 1961. It has two mezzanine floors with well-equipped big Reading Hall.It is very Planned and designed library building having area about 8100 sq.ft. It is Very well equipped library building in all respect. Having various sections with Reading Hall, Periodical section. The library has 18 Departmental Libraries. The Library has the historical libraries like Sangli State Library and Miraj State Library. The library has also Known as “SHRIMANT SOUBHAGYAWATI UMABAISAHEB PATWARDHAN LIBRARY.” The first book purchased by the college was recorded on 23/07/1923 in the Accession Register and this book is “SHAKESPEARIAN GRAMMER” by E.A. Abbott.
